Mission

Our research team, located at Kasetsart University's Kamphaeng Saen Campus, is dedicated to advancing plant biotechnology and precision agriculture innovation. Our primary focus is on utilizing Molecular Breeding to achieve excellence in crop improvement, particularly for economically important crops. Our expertise lies in rice breeding, which caters to the specific requirements of producers and consumers, resulting in tailor-made rice varieties. Our objective is to develop rice varieties with favorable nutritional properties for the well-being of consumers, while also possessing natural resistance to diseases, pests, and adaptability to changing environments. To accomplish this, we are actively working on the development and implementation of a breeding platform that allows us to comprehend the roles and mechanisms of genes influencing various economically significant traits, nutritional content, and stress tolerance in rice. Furthermore, we leverage our broad knowledge base to develop rice varieties specifically suited for our country while serving as a regional hub for marker-assisted selection (MAS) technology. Additionally, we apply our expertise in genomics to enhance other plant varieties, such as tomatoes and maize.
